Summer Programs

Each summer, the Academy of Colorado Ballet offers many classes and workshops for dancers at any age and level.

Summer Intensive Ballet Program 

June 21-July 16, 2010

The Academy of Colorado Ballet offers a four-week intensive dance experience for intermediate to advanced level dancers (ladies must have completed at least one year of concentrated pointe training). Students participate in approximately eight hours of dancing each day.  Daily classes include ballet, jazz, modern and character.  Students will also prepare and present an in-studio concert on the final day of the program.  Faculty includes the outstanding artistic staff of the Colorado Ballet and Academy.

Summer Intensive Tuition is $1,500.

Supervised student housing is available for visiting participants under the age of 18 at Campus Village @ Auraria (318 Walnut St. Denver, CO).  Campus Village is located approx. 1.5 miles from the Colorado Ballet studios.  Unsupervised housing for students over the age of 18 is also available.  Cost of room and board is $2200.

Admission to the Summer Intensive Program is by audition only.  Dancers may submit a video audition.  Video must include barre and center work.  Ladies must include pointe work.  Deadline for video audition is March 1, 2010.  The following is the audition schedule for the Academy of Colorado Ballet’s Summer Intensive Ballet Program.

Pre-registration is not required. Please bring with you your resume, a dance photo and a recent head shot.  Ladies will be expected to audition in pointe shoes.

Deadline for DVD/Video auditions is March 1, 2010.

Students will receive an audition result letter by Feb. 12, 2010. Upon acceptance to the Summer Intensive Program, a non-refundable deposit of $300 is due by March 1, 2010 to reserve a place in the program. If residing in program housing, an additional $300 non-refundable deposit is also due on that date. All balances must be paid by June 1, 2010.
